Following what seems like an extremely short summer break, the County Louth Badminton Association has kicked in to gear readying clubs and players for the coming season. Summer clubs run in Drogheda and Dundalk attracted new players to the scene, and these will provide new competition and team entries to the league and cup.
On the afternoon of Sunday the 26th of September, The Marshes Shopping Centre in Dundalk will host the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 European Seniors Badminton Tournament. Each year, this tournament sees the top players from around Europe compete during the week long competition across age groups from 35+ in male and female singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

The scheduled for the league finals are attached, remaining matches will be finalised shortly.
The draw for the Louth Cup took place on the 8th March. Attached is the resulting fixtures.
Please pay particular attention to the new rules as these have changed from previous years.
The normal order of play is as laid out on the results sheet.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the WINNING team to send in the results sheet. Also team sheets should be exchanged before the results sheet names are filled in.

The recent bad spell of weather affected a number of events for the county. The annual tournaments have been rescheduled to run between the 8th and the 14th of February, with the finals being on the Saturday and Sunday. Closing date for entries is the 3rd of February, more details are available from each club secretary, entry forms are attached.
Long range weather forecasts are predicting the current wintry weather conditions to continue to at least the end of next week. The county committee have taken the decision to postpone the County Tournaments next week until later in the season. More news will be forthcoming.

Following queries regarding divisions listed in the invitation letter, we would like to clarify that this is based on Louth league levels. These leagues are established based on the Leinster points system as follows:
Division 7: points 4,5,6
Division 6: points 7, 8, 9
Division 5: points 10, 11, 12
Division 4: points 13, 14, 15
and so on
